Tarascon is one of the major publishers of “peripheral brain” pocketbooks. In recent years these texts have migrated to digital format. We’ve compiled a list of Tarascon products available for the iPhone and Android – part of medical software initiative in collaboration with NetDoc.com.

Tarascon Pharmacopoeia

The Tarascon Pharmacopoeia Pocketbook has been around in print form since 1987. With the transition to digital media, it has been converted to both iPad/iPhone and Android formats.

The pharmacopoeia is designed to be a comprehensive pharmacology reference for physicians – giving dosing information, checking for drug interactions, and having 9 built-in medical formula calculators.

Equally important, this Tarascon iPad App is engineered to be up-to-date. With a built-in auto-update function.

With the basics covered, this package actually has a surprising number of extras – relative price comparisons, actually pricing numbers from drugstore.com and Canadian drug names.

Tarascon Apps

While the pharmacopoeia is the most widely used Tarascon product, it also publishes a variety of references for the wards. These are print versions of titles like Tarascon Adult Emergency Pocketbook and Tarascon Primary Care Pocketbook

Each of these titles is a quick reference that’s well suited to medical students on rotation or house staff. They are organized into lists and tables, as well as text, to give quick access to commonly needed information.
