for an Associates RN to BSN its not an extra 4 years, its like another 2 years with the RN to BSN path.

Started Aug 2003 part-time (d/t being a stay at home mom of 3 kids) and graduated May 2007 with my ADN. It took me 3.5yrs to complete nsg school. you can read more in this article is most accurate resource on information about nurses http://nursection.com/page/2/ Good Luck to you!!!

It depends on your free time and types of program you wish to enroll. There are online programs, evening and night programs, accelerated nursing programs, bridge programs, and classroom based programs. All these programs have different courses completion schedules. You can visit school website and find the types of programs they offer. If you are not working or have sufficient free time, you can join short duration accelerated or long duration nursing programs, but if you are busy or if you have a job, you can enroll in other programs and complete them in your free time. The program costs also differs depending upon the program.

LPN school is a bit shorter at around a year of training for a diploma/certification, and there are online programs as well. But, there are programs that can take up to two years, which is not that far off from what a lot of RNs go through
