According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics , the median annual salary for registered nurses as of 2016 was $65,470. Remember, that means that half of the workers earned more (as high as $94,720) and half earned less, but that number should give you a good idea of how high nurse's starting salary to be.
Depending on the level of expertise and areas of specialization, the number of years experience a nurse gain, and the city and state in which they work, the RN salary can range quite a bit.
