Learning and recall are state dependent.

That means you remember things better when you are in the same state as when you learned them. So, if you start your study day by drinking a cup of coffee and having a BLT, do that on test day.

That also means making your test preparation as similar to the test taking environment as possible. Instead of playing music and studying with the TV on, study in a quiet room, maybe even wearing headphones to keep out the sound. Since this is the environment you will be in on test day it’s better that you be used to it and not distracted buy new headphones or the idea of quiet muffled sounds.
