2007 Application

Postby monkey007 » Mon Jun 19, 2006 10:18 pm

Hi, i am planning to apply to DO schools this year, but am afraid my stats are not good enough. Here are my stats (Biology major):
-Cumulative GPA: 3.45
-MCAT:23Q (Bio=8, Physical=9, Verbal=6)
-Published a research article on Pain medication in the Undergraduate Research Journal (single author)
-Over 300 hrs of volunteer work
-I plan on doing the post-bacc program at PCOM (hopefully i will get in)
Any advice is welcome!
Thanks so much for your time

I think you have an awesome resume, but the MCAT is the killer! DO schools are iffy, so the post-bac option will probably be your best bet. Make sure to focus and retake the MCAT and you should be fine.

What are you doing a Post-bacc? What not just retake the mcat?

Yeah post-bacc seems like a waste. Apply early and get in! Don't go wasting 30,000 extra dollars on two years of post-bacc when a 210 dollar retake of the MCAT could be all that you need... study hard!!!!
