Two F's ruined my chances?

Postby CJ11B » Thu Jan 28, 2016 7:24 pm

Hello all, I've been searching around here for awhile and figured it was time to join up. I have a question that I hope somebody can help me with, and I'm sorry I know its been asked many times. Here's my story, I got out of the Army 3 years ago and went straight to my states university. I was majoring in business (aka didn't know what I wanted to do haha) and ended up dropping out that first semester. I hate making excuses but I was having trouble adjusting to civilian life even though I couldn't admit it at the time. Long story short I finally realized what I wanted to do and have set my sights on medical school. I am working on my 3rd semester of community college and have a 4.0 GPA from there so far. My main concern is my grades from that first semester, I have 2 F's (one in art history and one in english comp) and 3 W's. Will this end up ruining my (realistic) chances? I would love any input or to hear of anyone who has been in a similar situation. Thank you for reading!

Welcome,
Those two classes are non science and will not really mess it all up. You will need to retake them and show you can get an A in them. While the GPA will still be lower, its only going to be a hickup
