Dyslexic Business Degree2.6 GPA looking 4 post bac opp

Hello All,

I have always wanted to be a Doctor. I was diagnosed late (just before High school) as being Dyslexic. Because of this my grades were always a struggle. Even though I am intelligent and have a high IQ I couldn't necessarily show that to my teachers, which led to a frustration in school, pushing me away from trying to be Pre Med.

I studied Finance and Management in college and did not focus on my grades (GPA 2.7) because my studies did not interest me. I have been out of school for three years I am 25 and I want to be a Doctor.

I 100% did not focus on grades because I was frustrated and more importantly, I was Immature. All though my GPA is low, it does show an upward trajectory as I matured and as I figured out what learning styles best suited me.
I know with out a doubt I have what it takes to be a good doctor and I know that I do have what it takes to succeed in Medical School, I just need to find a Post Baccalaureate program and Medical School willing to give me a shot.

Is there anyone on here who has been in a similar situation who could offer guidance on how to get an opportunity? I believe that if I was able to get an interview I could sell myself enough to get a Post Bacc program to give me a shot and then I will focus 100% on getting the grades and scores I need for the next step

In addition to working in business I am also a licensed personal trainer and I currently Volunteer in an ICU here in Baltimore MD.
Would it be Beneficial to be certified as an EMT to show a commitment to the field?

This is going to be an up hill battle the whole way and it is going to take every ounce of energy I have and then some luck, but no matter what it takes, I will be a Doctor.

Thank you,
DG

Best statagy is to rehab the gpa, so yes post bac, volunteer is important as much as getting exposure to medicine.
