What schools with these stats?

Postby danielsonc » Mon Oct 05, 2009 10:43 pm

So I graduated undergrad at FSU with a overall GPA of 2.8 (Science - 2.8 )

I enrolled in a master's program (in biomedical science) at Midwestern University-AZ and graduated with a 3.8 GPA

I took my MCAT 2 years ago and got a 20
and just recently took my MCAT and got a 25 (P-8, V-8, B-9)

I have good letters of rec and also good DO letters. You think any school would be interested?

thanks for the responses

Apply to a bunch of DO schools with Caribbean back up but...........I think you have a shot at DO

Your GPA is good for Grad school

The MCAT is just under the 26 bottom basement............So I think I may go ahead and apply.

you improved at 20 to 25........you may not get accepted but this is hard really

hows the rest of the app?

you chances will increase with good Shadow, volunteering, patient experience

Shadowed 2 DO's on and off for 3 years.

Volunteered at my local hospital for about 6 months

Was involved with a bunch of community volunteer things while in grad school at midwestern in AZ

Got letters of Rec from:
both DO's
an undergrad O chem professor
a dept letter from midwestern's graduate program

I think that's it

OK I think this looks like you have a shot then, DO schools, If you do not get into DO you can Apply to the big three Caribbean, they will take you.
