High GPA low MCAT

Postby Cmak10 » Mon Aug 27, 2007 7:48 pm

If a person has a high GPA like a 3.9 does that cancel out a 27 or a 28 MCAT score at all? Or is the MCAT more important than GPA?

A 3.9 does help in that case, but the schools will wonder why you did so poorly

It's been posted here though if you did like 999 then it is balanced verses like
10 6 10 or 10 7 10 or 12 6 9 anything unbalanced

A high GPA probably balances it out a "little bit"... maybe a couple pts, but your MCAT score will get you lots of rejection. Again, a balanced score will help 10 9 9... otherwise, retake the MCAT and shoot for a 30, 31, and you'll be very competitive for many schools.

A high GPA with low MCAT is better than an average GPA with low MCAT. However, when I see a 3.9 student getting a 27, I think "grade inflation."

What an insensitive post.
