Windows 7 anyone?

Postby CaribMD » Sun Jun 14, 2009 10:53 pm

Ok I held off showing how much a Geek I'm am, I started beta testing Win 7 back in April because I could not stand the blue screens of Vista anymore.

Gotta say I'm on 7137 and its sweet! Windows 7 has not crashed and works well so far.
it uses 25% less memory then Vista.

Anyone else? I'm looking towards leak of the final locked RTM release!

If you have vista ( I know you do) then look into Windows 7 your computer is compatible if running Vista.

Wow! You are a geek!

Never made the move to vista, my personal stuff is still XP.

We did move to windows 7 in my lab for better memory management and non-vista reliability. Seems to be working well.

Yea Windows 7 is definetely better, I have it on my Laptop and I can say it's faster and more convenient. It's really good for Microsoft Office as it takes less time to run the application.

Some say win 7 works well on older systems unlike Vista but the problem is the Computer manufactures are not supporting the Win 7 drivers and laptops with out dedicated video Memory of at least 128mb will not run full areo, so I stick with XP SP3 for the older laptops and this one is a Core Duo with the 128 so its a "2" and runs full 7. with 1.5gb ram I get pretty much full power, Ram is almost always at the 40 to 48% load so its not bad at all!

By the way my laptop is a Dell D420 with a LV 1.2 ghz Core Duo ( 32 bit) I choose this because its less then 3lbs with the 3 hour battery and 3 LBs with the 4.5 hour battery, so its light and its a Latitude with a Mag alloy case its supposed to be tough for lugging around!
