Anyone read this novel about a Caribbean Med school?

Hi --
Has anyone ever read The Doctor Factory by Richard Hansford? It's a novel written by an former St. George's Med School professor. It really sheds some light on what it's like at a Caribbean school. I was wondering what you thought of it. Is it really like that there?

Anyway, I recommend it.

Heard about it and I'm sure many things are true to life in it.

We become very cynical as we grow in medicine. Don't believe every word of it.

But Caribbean schools are very odd at times.

I have not read the book yet when I have time I will.

Carib,

My buddy has the book, and said he could totally figure out which professor was which character in the book. Staying on "the island of spice" *Grenada* for a few years, you can't help but hear all the different rumors about the various professors.

I'll probabbly give it a read some time during my 4th year.

Thanks so much! I just ordered it actually and I promise to take it w/ a grain of salt. :D I also bought Hansford's new book of short stories too, called "Rats in Science and Medicine." It has a bunch of short stories about the "fictional" med school in it (i.e. SGU for sure!) I want to know as much as possible about what it's like down there, I'll take what I can get ya know?
