quick question (grade)

Postby bytes » Fri Oct 30, 2009 8:01 pm

Hello everyone, I am a freshmen undergrad student. I do ultimately plan on going on to medical school. I am currently taking a calculus class in which I have a high level of doubt that I can actually receive a passing grade. As of now, in all my other classes I expect to receive nothing less than an "A-". I would like to know:

Would withdrawing from the class, at this point in the semester, and receiving a "W" for the class be a wiser choice than staying in the class and receiving an "F"? Would having a "W" and later retaking it for an "A" be better than receiving a "F" then retaking it?

I thank everyone for taking the time to read this post.

Withdraw on Monday and concentrate on the rest of classes then.

Its ok to withdraw just do not do it more then 2 or 3 times the whole time in college.

W's do not count but F's do and would be averaged into the A to equal a C ( not at the college but AMCAS does this when applying)
From AMCAS:AMCAS GPAs are almost always different from those calculated by the schools you have attended. Therefore, AMCAS does not in any way attempt to compare our calculations with those appearing on your official transcripts.

Yeah. That's some good advice. For me, calculus comes naturally...but those damn pop quizzes gets me!
