In our country, a Surgical Technician is usually helping to choose right instruments during the surgery and sometimes if it's more an orthopedics' one, he works with things like podoscopes, plasters and things like that. And yes, they are really needed in hospitals!

Surgical technician is also known as operating room technician. They work as an assistant to the surgeon and plays a big role in the operating room.
