What should I do?

Postby DavoleBomb » Wed May 21, 2008 11:28 pm

I just finished my junior year at Johns Hopkins.

I have a lot of research and service.

My overall GPA and science GPA are both: 3.78

My MCAT is:

PS: 11
VR: 9
BS: 14
W: M

Should I retake the MCAT? Here's the deal. I skipped over a page of question on the PS section with the intent to go back later and finish them. Well, I forgot about them and had to guess at the end on 5 questions and left another 3 blank. So I know I can do better on the PS section. However, I'm not sure I will maintain my BS score. Also, I don't know what happened on VR as I thought I did okay on that. Also, is my writing score too low to matter?

You would be silly to retake the MCAT with that score.

Hi guys.

I just graduated college and I have a 3.65 cumulative GPA (stronger in BCPM) and I got a 32S on the MCAT in the Spring. I have a fair amount of research experience but no publications and some clinical experience, but not a ton.

9 VR
11 PS
12 BS

Should I retake the MCAT in August? Would that help me get into a mid tier MD program?

No... that's a pretty good score.

Hey everyone... I could really use some advice. I am currently scheduled to take the MCAT again in 7 weeks because I want to apply this year but am unsure whether I should cancel it or not. I have a 28N

PS 9
VR 9
BS 10

My writing sample was not good...N which was the result of test anxiety because I know I could do better on that.

I am a dance/biology double major and have a 3.63 GPA and just don't know if it is worth it to take the MCAT again or if I should just really work on my applications and applying to a broad range of schools early.

The other thing I am worrying about is that I have been trying to decide what to do for so long that now I just have 7 weeks to brush up again on material for the MCAT if that's what I decide to do.

What do you think?
