GPA is 3.3 overall same for Science and Math GPA (had a bad first 2 years and brought it up from a 2.4 in 4 semesters with 2 repeats)

practice MCAT was 28 hoping for 30 or higher on the real thing (need to take my last physics and physiology first)

+1000 hrs working in Rehab at teaching hospital

biology major with 2 years left (transferred home due to financial reasons and lost hours)

can get reccomendations from many MD's but not so much DO's seeing as I've never met one

I've never really gotten an opinion on where I stand before so I thought I'd ask this lovely community for theirs. Any advice is always welcome as well as constructive criticism. I have many hobbies and interesting life experiences that will make for a killer personal statement. I'm open to any and all options although I'm reluctant on carribean schools for personal reasons. I know some people love them but to each his own I guess.

I think you have a chance, but be prepared for a Fight.
Also look into the Caribbean 3, they have just about the same status as US schools now, the main problem with them is residencies like Surgery are harder to get but you can get them if your Step score is high enough.

You have a shot but will need to get at least a 28 on your MCAT, probably 30+. Keep trying to increase both your overall and science GPA. I know it is hard to change it much at this stage, but every additional A helps!

You WILL need a LOR from a DO. Since you do not know any DOs personally, ask one of the many MDs you know who if they know of a local DO. On the chance they can not help, contact the closest DO school and see if they have either alumni in the area or if you can get in contact with one of their DO faculty. I know it can be a pain, but unfortunately it is required at nearly all DO programs.
