Getting a Residency Career

The Health-Science Career

What else is out there?

Over the next few weeks and months we'll be hearing the experiences of people in many different career fields. If there's a particular career you'd like to hear about, let us know and we'll track someone down who knows about it. If, on the other hand, you have a career history you'd like share, we'd love to hear about it.

The easiest way to keep up to date with what's going on here is to sign up for the MSRG mailing list. As career vingettes are added, we'll let you know by e-mail.

Peter Fiske has written a short and informative "practical career guide for scientists," in which he outlines several techniques for finding a career you love. It's well written, and it's short (that is, it's well written). In addition to books, it's worthwhile learning what the healthcare industry is like. Keith Rasmussen's Health Care Industry Home Page will give you a good idea of the array of elements that contribute to "Health Care" in America. Biotech is a very different beast from "Health Care", and the Biotech segment of the US economy is on the verge of huge growth. A very good time for someone with training in the basics of biology, chemistry and physics.

    Stay tuned . . .
